CAMP WALLEYE 2009!
2009 Camp Walleye had a total of 55 Kid Campers, 9 Chaperones, 32 Boats
and 72 Volunteers.
Looking at past years and summarizing Campers caught more perch than ever
with Less time spent fishing (but fish perch were smaller). All other areas
were close to past years when taking hours on water into account.
Campers and boats only went out 2 times rather than the normal 3 so fishing
was cut by 33% or 6 hours. Which effected catch rate somewhat.
All chaperones did a great job making sure kids had a good time even
thought they weren’t on the water. To anyone that has had anything to do with
this camp if you have comments please let me know. Thank You. Pat Volkmar.

Hello From North Middle School Hooked on Fishing not Drugs
What a day we had today May 30th 2009. The Kids of NMS Fishing Club and adults
from Great Falls Chapter Walleyes Unlimited and Montana Fish wildlife & Parks
came together to beautify a fishing access. This is a great place a very nice
Prairie Pond in a great setting.
We all set upon this because of 2 grants one from Northwestern Energy and
Great Falls Walleyes Unlimited. There has been a Pavilion at this location for
years but it was falling down from the Prairie winds and severe winters. So
NMS Fishing Club took it upon it's self last year to try to raise money to
repair and beautify it. This Saturday this project came together. The Pavilion
is repaired and picnic tables were
fixed. Great project that came together with a lot of helping hands.
Special Thanks too!!!!
Alex Ferguson & Derik Senger- for bringing there pickups & enclosed trailer’s,
generators, tools, and hauling Supplies and Helping.
Adam Strainer & Cody Nagel of MFWP- for helping with all the building.

Unlimited- For all there help constructing and cleanup on the project.

Great Week - Go Fishing Pat Volkmar
Jan 19th
NMS fishing club took 30 children from elementary to High School out fishing
on Beaver Creek Reservoir. What a great day with temperature almost 50 with
only a breath of wind. Catching fish on the other hand was a little slow. Had
two fisherman of the month. Duck Slayer and Anthonio Ruis both caught 12
perch. We have several parents to thank for helping out. Special thanks to our
Chef David Sergent and Dave Hagenguber and his son Joe for helping just about
every kid catch a couple fish. Also thanks to Alex Fergusen for bringing his
mobile classroom and Scott Achilles from Scheels for helping out. I would
personally like to thank Jack Emard a local fisherman and Walleyes Unlimited
member for donating his time and knowledge to the kids. This was a very good
trip many kids caught their first fish.
