Presidents Message
A message from Mike Newton
Hello Everyone,
Do you believe it, 2007 is about to come to an end and where the heck did it go?
I trust all of you have been keeping warm. We’ve had a lot going on lately with
meetings about the limits at Canyon Ferry and about hatchery funding, and lots of
questions about our 501-C3. We will keep working on these issues and keep you informed.
Hopefully many of you have had the chance to get out and do a little ice fishing.
For those that haven’t, take a look at those two beauties Elliot Garfield caught….WOW
great job Elliot. Pat Volkmar is still taking the kids fishing almost every weekend
and just look at the pictures, these kids are having a blast, super job Pat. With the
coming of the New Year comes the State Meeting and Banquet and of course all of those
great Chapter Banquets, I can’t hardly wait. The State Banquet is in Glendive this year.
The Glendive Chapter is hard at work to make this banquet unforgettable for everyone.
There will be fun and games and prizes for the kids, a Monte Carlo afternoon for the
ladies, fishing seminars with Ken Schmidt and Todd Riggs from Glasgow, Jim Jesson from
Glendive on river fishing and last but certainly not least Bob Hickey from Kalispell.
We also hope to have some FWP guys show up with their insights and information. Then
the all-you-can-eat Walleye Banquet with lots of great prizes, auctions, and of course
the G3 River Boat Raffle drawing, there are only 1,000 tickets being sold at $20 each
so if you haven’t got yours yet give me a call. We will also be recognizing the Anglers
of the Year, Hall of Fame inductees and our Presidents Youth Award winners. I am looking
forward to seeing you all there to help us make the beginning of, and the entire 25th
Year Anniversary of Walleyes Unlimited of Montana a great and memorable year for all
of us. Please don’t forget to say a prayer for our troops and their families. Peggy
and I wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SAFE, HAPPY, AND PROSPEROUS FISHING NEW YEAR!!!
Sincerely,
Mike Newton
