CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Upper Yellowstone

The Upper Yellowstone Chapter banquet was held March 8th. Attendance was down considerably due to several other unanticipated local events going on the same evening, but it turned out well overall. The live auction was very successful and everyone got plenty to eat. We thank all those who contributed and attended. We especially thank State WU President Mike Newton for driving over from Glendive to attend.

Our annual Kid's Day at Dailey Lake is scheduled for Friday, May 16th. We expect around 220 4th grade kids from Park and Sweetgrass County Schools. We always need more boats, so if anyone is willing to volunteer please contact Darren Raney at draney@wispwest.net or 223-0170.
 

CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Gallatin/Madison

During the next month or so, your club, the Gallatin/Madison Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited, will help put on two events intended to increase kids interest in fishing. It's alarming for our sports future that fewer youngsters take up the hobby every year. Future generations of fishermen will be required to protect or fisheries and fishing rights in the years to come. Volunteer some time if you can, to help these kids learn a little bit about fishing. We pass out free rods, reels, & tackle kits, tie a few knots, and bait a few hooks, eat pizza, and tell a few lies. Following are the times and locations.

Big Brothers & Sisters
We have the Walleyes Unlimited fishing day scheduled for Thursday evening the 21st of Aug. It will be at the East Gallatin Rec Pond. We will serve pizza and pop at 5.00 pm and then fish until 8.00 pm. We will need all volunteers for this to be successful.

THRIVE
We have also been invited to help THRIVE with there kids fishing day. Theirs is scheduled for the 17Th of Sept. from 6:00 to 7:30pm. at the Bozeman Ponds. This is more of a dads and kids thing, where most have not fished before. It's a good time.
